Do those in mainland China have the habit of giving to charities?
If so what is the giving pattern? (For example in the US a lot of people give in Dec. right before the Year ends). Or are the gifts centered around crises and therefore have a more clustered and irregular pattern?
What type of causes do they give to?
Are they domestic organizations or international ones?
How much do people give?
What type of person gives?


I would like to read up on these topics. Please point me to resources where I could research these questions. I would prefer English language resources, but am also interested in everything and would read Chinese sources.
